Worshippers of Gods

Gods are created to help people in a particular region of the Earth and promote world peace. People often create religions to worship their god or gods and those religions have many benefits to their communities. However, all too often people use their religion for violence, terrorism or war which is very disappointing and stressful for their god (or gods). When gods are disappointed or stressed for long periods of time, they can become tired and sad. In the book of Meifeng, the Zebracorn states that when gods become tired and sad, they sometimes wish to retire. Also in the book of Meifeng, the Zebracorn explains that it only eats gods when they wish to retire and return to the Zebracorn’s imagination.

Contrary to popular belief, gods do not have unlimited powers. They have a limited ability to influence the physical world and are limited in the types of “miracles” they can perform which is why they only occasionally create lightening or break a drought with heavy rains. They cannot speak to groups of people but they can sometimes speak to people through their imaginations. Gods cannot appear as a human or any living thing but they can select people to become prophets and spread the messages.

If your god has not performed any miracles or spoken to anyone for centuries, you should consider the possibility that your god (or gods) has retired, returned to the Zebracorn to be eaten and has returned to the Zebracorn’s imagination.
